EUROSAI EWGEA SPRING SESSION 2025 ON “CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND MITIGATION POLICIES AS A CHALLENGE FOR AGRICULTURE”

The meeting, hosted by the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Poland, took place on 7-8 May in Warsaw and focused on effective strategies and policies needed to help farmers cope with climate change and reduce emissions from agriculture.
Agriculture, rural livelihoods, sustainable management of natural resources and food security are inextricably linked within the development and climate change challenges of the twenty-first century.
As successful adaptation and mitigation responses in agriculture are essential, SAIs have a fundamental role to play in auditing the measures taken in different countries and helping to assess their effectiveness in improving resilience.
The Corte dei conti has actively participated in the Group's two-day activities by sharing a recent audit report and discussing agriculture itself as a major driver of environmental and climate change.
